🤖 Ready to help shape the future of AI at the edge? 🤖

At AI-Blox, we build high-performance, modular hardware for edge AI applications. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Industrial Product Designer with a strong technical mindset - someone who can turn complex electronic systems into functional, well-designed, and manufacturable products.

You’ll work at the intersection of industrial design and mechanical engineering, shaping our enclosures and user-facing hardware while collaborating closely with electronics engineers, external mechanical experts, and suppliers.

Your Mission

🚀 How you'll make an impact:

  • Translate technical and functional requirements into refined, manufacturable product designs
  • Design housings, layouts, and interfaces that balance form, function, and thermal/mechanical constraints
  • Demonstrate excellent 3D modeling skills to create detailed and accurate CAD models for prototypes and production
  • Create detailed, realistic renderings of concepts and products using Blender or similar software, as well as leveraging visual AI tools, to support marketing, presentations and internal reviews
  • Create clear visuals to communicate concepts effectively, using sketches and renderings for internal reviews, marketing, and presentations
  • Work with technical requirements, including thermal management, IP protection, and mechanical performance, applying your problem-solving skills to find practical design solutions
  • Maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, compliant with GD&T standards for clear communication with manufacturing partners, and documentation for prototyping and manufacturing
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure design feasibility, manufacturing quality, and cost-effectiveness
  • Support validation and testing of prototypes, gathering feedback to improve future iterations
  • Contribute to a consistent product design language that reflects AI-Blox’s brand and modular design philosophy

🧩 What makes you a great fit:

  • A Master’s degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in product or industrial hardware design
  • A strong technical interest and willingness to learn about mechanical design principles
  • Excellent 3D modeling skills and experience with CAD software (e.g., Fusion 360, Onshape, SolidWorks). Experience in creating precise 2D technical drawings following GD&T guidelines to ensure clear communication with suppliers
  • Proficient rendering skills using Blender, similar software and proficiency in AI-assisted visual tools
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience with 3D printing for prototyping and familiarity with other manufacturing technologies such as CNC machining, die casting, and sheet metal fabrication
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) for visuals, presentations, and product material preparation
  • A passion for turning technical complexity into clean, practical design solutions
  • A collaborative attitude - you enjoy working with engineers, suppliers, and external partners
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and iteration
  • Excellent English communication skills are essential as you will be working in an international team and collaborating with clients worldwide
  • Ability to commute to Brussels on a daily basis
