Timefold is an open-core software startup founded in 2023 - on a mission to free the world from wasteful scheduling! We are the next chapter of OptaPlanner, a field-proven, open-source solver originally created by Geoffrey De Smet, our CTO and co-founder.

Our headquarters are in Ghent, Belgium, in the magnificent and iconic Wintercircus building. The team operates remotely from various locations with hubs in Belgium, Czech Republic, and the US.


About the role

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Timefold, you will be crucial in fueling our sales pipeline by connecting with potential customers and identifying opportunities to bring value through our cutting-edge planning optimisation solutions. This role is perfect for someone with a business development foundation and is eager to take their skills to the next level.

In this position, you’ll receive 1:1 coaching from a highly experienced sales professional, equipping you with the tools, strategies, and expertise to grow into a full-cycle sales role in the near future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospecting: Identify and engage potential customers through research, email campaigns, cold calling, and social media outreach.
  • Qualifying Leads: Assess inbound and outbound leads to determine fit and readiness for our solution.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to refine messaging and drive engagement.
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of all interactions in our CRM system (Hubspot), ensuring a seamless transition for leads into the sales pipeline.
  • Feedback Loop: Share insights from prospect interactions to help improve outreach strategies and product positioning.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience: Some prior exposure to the BDR/SDR role or similar sales experience.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Eagerness to Learn: A genuine desire to grow, improve, and take on new challenges in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with CRM tools and sales software (experience with HubSpot, Sales Navigator, Apollo, or similar is a bonus).
  • Resilience: Comfortable handling rejection and motivated to achieve and exceed targets.
